ACCESS TO WELLNESS & SAFETY RESOURCES IN LAUSD & BSAP

We surveyed over 2,300 students across 100+ schools in LAUSD. The purpose was to assess all students’ access to mental health and community-based safety resources as well as Black students’ experiences accessing resources from the Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP). The survey revealed that Black students at BSAP schools have enormous needs that are not yet being met. Furthermore, the survey also revealed that the mental health needs of Black and non-Black students at non-BSAP schools also have enormous needs that the district is not meeting.
